The terms that govern bookings and use of this site.
Last updated: June 2026
These terms govern your use of this website and any enquiry or booking you make with Alta Via Expéditions SAS, a tour operator registered in France with its office at 5 avenue de l'Opéra, 75001 Paris. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
We design and lead guided mountain journeys, including hikes, alpine ascents and scenic high-trail expeditions. Route descriptions, distances, grades and durations shown on this site are indicative and may be adjusted to reflect conditions, group ability and safety considerations.
An enquiry through this website is not a confirmed booking. A booking becomes binding only once we have confirmed availability in writing and you have accepted the applicable trip details and payment terms communicated to you at that time.
Mountain travel involves inherent risks. You are responsible for ensuring that you are in suitable health and fitness for the journey you choose, and for following the reasonable instructions of your guides. Our guides may modify or halt any activity where they judge it necessary for safety. We make no guarantee that any summit or full route will be reached.
Weather, ground conditions and other factors beyond our control may require us to change an itinerary before or during a trip. Where we must cancel a departure, we will offer an alternative date or a refund of sums paid for the cancelled services, in line with the booking terms provided at confirmation.
Suitable travel and mountain-activity insurance, including cover for emergency evacuation where relevant, is strongly recommended and may be required for certain journeys. It is your responsibility to arrange adequate cover.
We take reasonable care in organising and delivering our services. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control or from your failure to follow safety instructions.
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent French courts.
